Treatments

Dry Needling

The type that I practice is referred to as Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN). It’s a form of soft tissue mobilization utilizing sterile needles to mechanically stimulate areas of a muscle with abnormal tone or tightness that has persisted over time and is now causing pain in the area or pain referred at or around a joint. TDN is utilized as part of a manual therapy and therapeutic exercise program to reduce pain, improve joint movement and function, and return the patient to activities that were once too painful.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

Soft Tissue Mobilization uses manual pressure, massage, or instrumented mechanical techniques to reduce muscle tension, soreness, pain and dysfunction, to allow more normal movement and activities. Massage techniques can help to relieve acute pain, while manual pressure and instrumented techniques normally focus on chronic, long-term muscular problems that continue to cause pain.

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal Manipulation uses manual pressure and “thrust” to increase joint movement and flexibility and relieve pain. By thoroughly evaluating your problem, I’m able to select techniques that are appropriate, effective, and avoid additional pain as a side effect.

Custom Orthotics

My in-shoe orthotics are manufactured to the highest standards by HERSCO, based on a thorough biomechanical examination that incorporates measurements that precisely describe how your foot, ankle, knee, and hip move in concert, to achieve the movement you accomplish. I go far past just assessing for “flat feet.”

Taping/Bracing

Taping and bracing help adjust the impact of mechanical forces on your muscles, tendons, and joints, reducing your pain and facilitating a faster recovery.
